Emily
December 7th: Day 0
Well it is 10:40 pm and
I’m sitting on my bed with Joey and Estee. I don't even really feel like writing this right now but Joey is doing it so I guess that means I have to, too. Tomorrow is the day we leave Hanoi
for Cambodia. Joey and I still don’t have any idea what bus we’re taking from
Phnom Penh to Siem Reap tomorrow morning, but I guess we’ll figure it out
when we get there.
I’m really tired. It’s sort of surreal to go from 32 people to just 2 so suddenly. I’m really going to miss everyone but it will be nice to go home for Christmas break and eat all the snacks and watch all the TV and pet all the dog. Two weeks of traveling with Joey? I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I know that I’m going to get stressed out by airports and constantly moving around, but it is literally going to be one big cuddle sesh the rest of the time so that totally makes up for it. Just two weeks of total relaxation. Even though I’ll be compiling our daily blog posts, I have enough self-control not to read his. We will only read each other's thoughts once we are back home in the U.S. So you, lucky audience member, get to read the real, candid truth! Talk about a CA. Well, I have to sleep now. Gotta get up at 5:30 in the morning. Yikes. You keep smiling, Emilayyy |

Dec 7, Day 0
I am laying here
in Emily and Estee’s bed making Emily do this project with me. We’ll see if we stick with it. I hope
so because I am really curious to see how weird Emily thinks I am.
Heres the deal-
Emily and I are travelling to Cambodia (Siem Reap), then Chiang Mai in
northern Thailand, and then Koh Phangan which is an island in southern
Thailand, and then we are leaving from Bangkok on the 21st.
We are most
certainly an odd couple, probably because we are both fairly odd individuals.
I like to cuddle, and rep Texas/UCLA/being Jewish way too much. Emily is a
sarcastic, really responsible, awesome girl who studies toilets and Africa.
Our connections to
each other- We just spent four months on a study abroad trip to New Orleans,
Sao Paulo, Cape Town and Hanoi where we were tight friends. We got really
close in New Orleans and Emily was sort of my undercover, no-one-knew best
friend. I trace it back to the one time we got friend chicken on a whim
together in New Orleans on like day 10 of our program. Then we shared a house
in Rio for a week during our vacation where I laid on the beach 75% of the time with her roommate. I think
during this time we got even closer and we started to outwardly show our
affection towards one another.
I am really
excited for our travels. Emily is probably not the person I would have
expected to travel with, but that sort of makes it all the more fun. If we
get angry at each other, we will probably just cuddle. And we’ll probably
just be cuddling a lot, because its what we do best. She is down to go to places, try new
foods, and be adventurous. (like the time we went shark diving in South
Africa together.) Basically she is a good travel partner, as I have spent the
last four months finding out.
It’s getting late.
Cab to the airport tomorrow at 6 am.
Peace fool.
